Java Island

Java Island

The island of Java is the main center of Indonesia, combining ancient history, unique culture and natural diversity. Home to some 130 million people, this densely populated island offers visitors majestic temples, modern cities and stunning natural scenery, from steaming volcanoes to turquoise lagoons.
Study of ancient civilizations. Java is a real find for history buffs. Here you can see the heritage of great kingdoms such as Majapahit and Mataram, as well as ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples. Don't miss a visit to Prambanan, the famous complex of 224 temples.

Adventures among volcanoes. There are more than 100 volcanoes in Java, and many of them are climbable. The most popular are Bromo with its unforgettable sunrises and Ijen with its blue fire and sulfur lake.

Beach holidays and water activities. The southern coast of Java is known for its picturesque beaches. Here you can surf, dive or just enjoy relaxing by the sea.

Thermal springs and exotic jungle. Mountain areas offer hot springs for relaxation, as well as excursions into dense tropical forests.

Gastronomic journey. Javanese cuisine surprises with its aromas and tastes. Try dishes using local spices and the famous gado-gado or Javanese coffee.

Walking around the cities. The capital Jakarta is impressive in scale and modernity, while Yogyakarta is a cultural center with colonial architecture and traditional crafts such as batik.
Climate and best time to travel. Java has a tropical climate with two seasons: the dry season is from May to September, the best time to travel, comfortable weather and minimal precipitation; the rainy season is from November to February, when the showers are heavy but short-lived and the air humidity is higher. The average air temperature all year round is +26…+32°C.

How to get there? The main international airport is Soekarno-Hatta in Jakarta. Fly from Moscow with a transfer (for example, in Dubai or Singapore). Frequent flights and ferries from other Indonesian islands such as Bali, Sumatra or Kalimantan are also available.

Where to go after Java? Holidays in Java can be combined with visits to other Indonesian islands. Bali is ideal for a beach holiday. Sumatra will delight you with its unique fauna and wildlife. Kalimantan will offer exploration of the jungle and the Mahakam River. Lombok will be an alternative to Bali with a calmer atmosphere.
Java is the ideal destination for those seeking a balance between adventure, culture and nature. This is an island where there is something for everyone, be it strolling through ancient temples, enjoying solitude on the beach or stunning views of the volcanic landscapes.
