Washed by the Indian Ocean to the south and the Bali Sea to the north, the island of Lombok is part of the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia. It is separated from Bali by the Lombok Strait, and from Sumbawa by the Alas Strait. Lombok attracts tourists with its unique landscapes: bright green hills, wild beaches, waterfalls, rare plants, steep mountain slopes and, of course, the Rinjani volcano - the second highest in Indonesia (3726 m). Trekking to its peak takes three days and promises unforgettable views.
