White Sand beach, or Virgin beach

The beach is located in a small secluded bay and is crescent-shaped with a coastline of about 700 meters. Surrounded by hills and tropical greenery, it looks very picturesque. The sand here is light yellow with volcanic inclusions, and the water shimmers with blue and turquoise hues. High waves are rare, making the beach suitable for swimming and snorkeling.

Infrastructure

On the beach there are warungs (small cafes) offering local and European cuisine. There is parking, showers and toilets. Sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented for a small fee or received for free when ordering food in a cafe. On the right side of the beach there are fishing boats, and the left side is more equipped for relaxation.

What to do on the beach

Sunbathing

Sun loungers and umbrellas are available on the beach. Most of them are located on the left side of the coast. You can also sunbathe on the sand, especially on the right, less crowded side.

Swimming and snorkeling

The best swimming area is on the left side of the beach with a gently sloping sandy entrance to the water. For snorkeling, it is better to choose the right side, where you can see corals, starfish, tropical fish and even turtles. Renting snorkeling equipment costs around 35,000-40,000 rupees.

Massage

Locals offer relaxing massages right on the beach. The cost of the procedure varies from 40,000 to 100,000 rupees, but the quality depends on the individual specialist.

Boat trips and fishing

Local boatmen organize boat trips to the small island of Pulau Kuan, as well as fishing trips. The price of the excursion is 250,000–350,000 rupees, conditions are discussed individually.

Lunch at warungs

Beach cafes offer fresh fish, seafood, nasi goreng, pasta and pizza. The cost of dishes varies from 40,000 to 120,000 rupees. Be sure to try coconut or freshly squeezed juice.

Walks around the area

Near the beach you can visit the Pura Bale Agung temple and climb the Bukit Asah hill, where there are observation decks. The views of the ocean and surrounding area are mesmerizing.

Useful tips

• Entrance and Parking: Beach entry and parking cost Rp 10,000 each.

• Equipment: Wear comfortable shoes for exploring the area as the roads may be rough.

• Relax in comfort: If you plan to spend the day at the beach, it is better to take a seat on the left side, where there are more amenities.

• Natural features: Be careful at high tide as the rocky bottom can be slippery.
